Circle of Security Classroom™: Attachment-Informed Professional Development for Educators

Attachment-informed strategies to support children's emotional wellbeing and regulation, and create safe, connected learning environments.

Suitable for: early childhood educators and teams.

Circle of Security Classroom™ Professional Development for Early Childhood Teams Delivered In-person or Online Australia-Wide.

Circle of Security Classroom™ (COSC™) is an attachment-informed professional development program designed to support early childhood educators to better understand children’s emotional needs and strengthen secure, responsive educator–child relationships.

Suitable for: Early childhood educators, room leaders, educational leaders, inclusion support staff, and early learning service teams.

Delivered across eight weekly or fortnightly sessions, the professional learning explores how secure relationships support children’s emotional regulation, wellbeing, language, social development and learning. Educators develop practical strategies to recognise children’s cues, respond to their emotional needs and create safe, connected learning environments.

Grounded in decades of attachment research, COSC™ uses visual frameworks, reflective discussion and guided conversation to help educators consider relationships, behaviour and their own responses in everyday practice. The sessions provide opportunities to reflect on professional practice and explore practical ways to strengthen connection, safety and emotional support for children.

The training can be tailored to the needs of your organisation, early learning service and staff team, including the age groups, professional roles and learning priorities of your educators.

Goals of the Training:

  • Understand the core principles of attachment theory and secure relationships.
  • Recognise children’s emotional needs and attachment cues in practice.
  • Strengthen educator–child relationships through responsive strategies.
  • Reflect on relational patterns and their impact on practice.
  • Apply attachment-informed approaches to support regulation and learning.
  • Participants will receive a certificate of completion.
